He linked this possibility to certain modern societal trends that he finds troubling from a religious standpoint. One specific area of concern for Vance is the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence in personal interactions, which he referred to as “kind of satanic.” He argued that AI as a substitute for genuine human relationships contradicts the purpose of meaningful social connections.
During the interview, Vance shared experiences of a perceived spiritual darkness he has felt during meetings with global leaders. He described how certain remarks or discussions could set off what he termed a “spiritual alarm bell.” This sense of foreboding, according to Vance, is indicative of underlying spiritual concerns within international dialogues.
Additionally, Vance came to the defense of President Donald Trump following the circulation of an AI-generated image depicting Trump in a manner reminiscent of Christ. He clarified that Trump had no intention to mock Christianity or elevate himself to a divine status, suggesting instead that the image was meant as an attempt at humor.
